LONDON – Britain’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who was conceived in New York, has denied his American citizenship.
Johnson’s name showed up on a U.S. government list Wednesday of individuals who had surrendered their citizenship a year ago.
Johnson had called his double nationality a mishap of birth, and had portrayed American expense laws as being crazy. He had already settled a U.S. capital additions assess charge for the offer of a London home before going on a U.S. visit in 2015
American residents are at risk to pay U.S. charges regardless of the possibility that they live abroad.
